Spongey Disc Brake question

My LBS fitted some new Deore disc brakes onto my bike at the weekend and because they shortened the rear cable had to bleed the brake. When testing it before I left the shop, they said the rear brake felt a little spongey and gave me a cable tie to keep the brake locked on overnight to let the air out. I did this, but being new to hydraulic disc brakes, how do I know if this is now sorted and ok?

is it still spongey? if yes take it back and ask they to finish sorting it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I know this may sound stupid, but what does spongey feel like? I don't know :?
Or if easier to explain, how should it feel when right?Boardman HT Comp 2012>

not firm. both levers should feel the same. do they."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I would say immediately they don't, but after I pull rear brake lever once or twice when bike standing still they do, if that makes sense?Boardman HT Comp 2012>

still got air in them. go back to the shop and get them to rebleed them."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks, I feared as much. How annoying.....is this common when first setting them up? I assume they should both feel firm and bite as soon as they touch pads.Boardman HT Comp 2012>

if the shop does the job right then it is not common."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Earliest I can get to LBS is next week, will it do any harm if I ride with them as they are over weekend?Boardman HT Comp 2012>

no harm. just wont be as good as they could be. but you may get lucky and them may come good."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
