Bike Problems

I am a tad conderned. I have borrowed a road bike for a week and yesterday it started to make some strange noises on the way home. The gears are rattling and it sounds like im carryiny loose change on me.

Im worried that the gears are loosening as they seem to be rattling around a lot. I dont know much about the mechanics of a road bike so I was hoping someone could tell me how serious this is?

    It could be the indexing of the gears. If that's not done correctly, then the chain will rub against the next sprocket, which could give you a 'rattling' sound.

    Best bet is to get it doen to the nearest bike shop in case youire riding a death trap :shock:
