Rough Avid Juicy 5s

Hi
I've got a pair of juicy 5s, but the one on the back creates quite a strange warbling noise and vibration through the bike. I've changed the pads, and the caliper appears to be set up right (i'm sure it is aligned ok), and it does it with different wheels, so it's not bearings...

Has anyone got any suggestions what may be causing this? I't done it since the bike was new, and I hoped it'd disappear as whatever it is bedded in, but sadly it's still there...

Thanks

Have a read of the stickied thread on disc brakes in the FAQ section.

Juicys, (all of them), can be a real pain in the arse when it comes to sqeaking. If hammering the brakes on a dusty down hill desnt sort it, and muddy water rubbing through the disks doesnt sort it, then Im at a loss. Both these solutions sorted mine, but only for a while. Im guessing its something to do with their design or pad material that lets them down. If you find a solution, let me know.

they do make a racket it has to be said. mine do anywauy. a cure ive heard is that if you make the rotor holes smoother, use a drill bit, file or something like that, it stops the vibrationa dn so stops the noise.
I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

interestingly (well i think it's interesting...), i've noticed that the rear pad was leaving a millimetre or so of the main rotor surface dirty, and looking a bit closer, it was rubbing by about a millimetre on the spokes of the rotor, so i wonder whether this is the problem... i've packed it out a bit with a washer, so now it's lined up right... hopefully this will cure it!

Down with Avid! Good for nothing, at least not stopping anyway. We should start an anti avid campaign, well in my own private world I will anyway!
