Okay, having had my second Kurt Kinetic computer pack up on me, I am after a bike computer that will have the sensor and magnet on the rear wheel. The reason is I want this computer to be on the bike that is permanently affixed to my turbo trainer, so I can get an idea of speed, cadence, distance travelled etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations :?:

  • McBain, I don't think you can go far wrong with the Cateye - I think it's the Astrale model - I've got one on each of my bikes and they last fine (unless you drop a bike on them!) and you also get the cadence function as well.

    McBain,

I agree with SoaG; I've had a Cateye Astrale for the last 3 years and no problems and it came on a second hand bike I bought, so it's being going well for a fews prior. Also as mentioned it offers a cadence reading.

Astrale is a great computer, but has been replace by the strada cadence (also a strada available but not the one you want).

Find the Astrale on websites, it is and always was cheaper than the new computer.

Thank you for the tip people, I'm off to try and find a Cateye Astrale :D
I've got the Strada on my No1 Bike (Enigma Esprit w/Dura-Ace and Fulcrum R3) and it is a lovely little unit.
