Which Saddle?

Saddles are a very personal thing - different ones seem to suit different riders. That one should be pretty robust too.
I tend to get on with Selle Italia ok but others swear by Specialized BG or Fizik. Specialized dealers have a thing for measuring the width of your sit bones so you can choose an appropriate width which could be an advantage.I\'m sure I had one of those here somewhere0 -
Go for the Thoork - it is really comfy, but not exactly cheap
What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!0 -
Sorry, no experience of that saddle, however I'd agree that they are a very personal thing.
Lots of people rave about the Specialized Body Geometry saddles (Toupe and others) that come in two sizes, and are size-selected by you sitting on their special pad for your shape.
I have to say that my Fizik Pave is superbly comfortable, although I do get mild numbness after 40 or 50 miles on it.
I actually perfer my Fizik Pave to my Spez. BG Toupe saddle though.
Selle Italia saddles look more comfy. Aren't they the same company as Fizik?
The ideal thing to do is to get to a shop with those saddles fitted to some of their bikes, so you can get an idea of feel.
I always rave about Condor, however their bikes are fitted mostly with Fiziks.
There's a very large Evans in Spitalfield market, London. Not sure on your location.0 -
Leesy .
I am about the same weight as yourself and i was using a Fizik Arione for the past two years until last week when it cracked ,so i changed to the Specialized Toupe and so far it is a lot more comfortable, i know i am only using it for a very short while but i dont get that squashed nuts feeling.
I would recommend that you go to a Specialized dealer and get a proper measurement done.https://www.instagram.com/seanmcgrathphotography/

OK folks thanks for all the advice so far. There is a large Evans Cycles right opposite where I work in Manchester so I think I'll have a trot over there tomorrow and test-sit a few. Part of the reason for the change is that the one I've had for the last three years is a pretty cheap one that came on the bike (Ribble 7005) It's a selle italia Trimatic 2 which i thought was quite comfy originally but recently I've been losing a bollock up in to my innards after about 10 miles so I hope a more expensive and better quality saddle will eliminate this problem!0
