how much dive can one reasonable expect on the front when breaking hard? My fox f100 rl's seem to dive by as much as 50% which seems quite a lot.

Why is that a lot? If your forks never bottom out then it is unlikely that you have them set up too soft, as a rule of thumb.

My 888's dive about 75% IIRC under harsh braking. I've only bottomed them 3 times, off big stuff so i'm not running them too soft. If you feel your wheel is tucking under slightly, then you could add some mroe air, but if they aren't bottoming then they're fine.

my 36's dive aout half/75%, but i rarely bottom them out, so is quite ok. if its bothering you you van send them off to mojo or something to have valves put in i think.
