Hi, just started out on my mountain bike and unfortunatly hit a kerb hard and burst the tube (Snakebite) also the wheels rim is dented about 1/4" inwards. Is this repairable or will i need to get a new wheel?

My bikes is a Diamondback D05.

Many thanks

I have repaired such dents with reasonable success using an adjustable spanner - though you should do so, and use the wheel at your own risk...

Thanks for the advice. I left it into Hlafords where i bought it and the guy said he'd have a go at knocking it out for me. It's in tomorrow to get the gears, brakes and chain adjusted and make sure everythings in working order.

If it does need replaced ill prob be asking for some advice on wheels!

If it does need a new wheel, I have found Merlin Cycles do excellent wheel builds at a good price (starting from £36 for hand built).

I was panicking cause I kept seeing ones at like over £100 but glad there are other alternatives!

yes, the sky is the limit with what you can spend, but a decent hand built can outperform many more expensive factory made ones.
