WOW!!! What a stage today. This stage was literally eating people alive. The TV cameras didn't actually pick up the crash by Stuart O'Grady but from what I read he was knocked unconcious. David Arroyo plunged into the abyss. I'm sure his life passed before his eyes when he saw he wouldn't be able to make the corner. Robbie "HUSTLE" McEwen got eliminated on time and he is the one guy my hat goes off to. They make them tough "DOWN UNDER". I'm not certain but there can't be more than 2 teams that still have all their riders. The mountain stages have indeed lived up to the hyperbole. What will the Pyrennes have in store :?: This sport is truly beautiful. As much as I like futbol, cycling is where it's at!

I don't think that they were 'literally' being eaten alive.

O'Grady's been badly knocked about, he seems to have been taking bidons back to the rest of the team when he came off, striking a metal post. He's got 9  broken ribs, a punctured lung and a dislocated shoulder,:( so I'd say it's not only his tour that's finished, it's his season too.
Rogers has dislocated his shoulder, so his continuation at all, was a testament to his courage and tenacityMcEwen finally succumbed to his knee injury, Brett Lancaster to his wounds, so it just leaves Cadel Evans to fly the flag for Australia.
The descent of the Roselend had claimed riders before, Johan Bruyneel fell 30ft into a tree in a ravine on one occaision.
Unlike footballers, pro-cyclists don't take "dives" on purpose!
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.

I wish people didn't crash and I don't see any beauty in it. :( I hate it when they replay Beloki being smashed to bits. Ended his career. Wonder what he's doing now?

Ditto re Beloki, Eurostar, really makes me wince.
The mountain stages so far have made it unpredictable (great), but unfortunately in an awful way.
