Bike postage

I'm selling a bike on eBay. I put it down for collection only, but someone has asked if I would be willing to post the bike from Cheshire to London.

I have no experience with posting such a huge thing.

Just wondered if anyone has done similar before, and can offer any advice please?

    Be aware that the boxes that bikes are delivered to bike shops in are often too large for the post. The maximum size length and girth are on the Royal Mail website. It is possible to get a bike in the right size box, wheels out saddle pin removed, bars turned sideways. Remember to protect the chainwheel(s) not only are the easily damaged but they can eat their way through a cardboard box.
