wanted: £500 hardtail

as title im looking for a hardtail xc bike for around £500 hydro discs are preferd/wanted and im 6ft tall and still growing (16years old) so a large frame size are required.
any help or info (and bkes)would be great.

'mbr' recently did a test on 12 £500 hardtails. the joint winners were Kona Blast(£550), Commencal Combi Disk (£499.99) and Specialized Rockhopper (but the rockhopper has v brakes and costs £550). also, check out halfords range of GT bikes. theyre basically the same as the avalanche range, but with slightly better specs regarding forks and other components at around the same prices.
also the Carrera Fury is pretty good, and its around £500.

I'm also 6ft and just got a hardrock disc pro 21", I'd highly recommend it

Don't suppose you remember what it had to say about the Kona?

don't touch halfords bikes, if they go wrong they will try everything possible to not put it right, see thread on general section

In your case, maybe lol, but not all. I worked at Halfords for two years, and I'd be very upset if you accused me of doing the same.
