I'm getting a new fork and i wondered how easy it would be to fit it myself, as far as i know it only involves taking the old fork off, cutting the new ones steerer down and adding the crown race and then just putting them on the bike and attaching the stem. Is this correct and do i need any special tools.

good info on park tools linky bellow. use something as a guide and file the edges down after cutting.

dont forget the star nut will need fitting aswell. again info on park tools.

I fitted RS Rev's to the bike at the begining of the year, having never done it before I was abit neverous but to be honest it was far simpler than I expected. Just make sure you measure the steerer several times and double check before cutting anything. I had a split crown race which made things a bit easier, and I would suggest getting a star nut tool, or your LBS or halfords will fit it for you for a few pennies.
