Flange orientation

Of course, I am referring to the flange on my new ODI lock-on grips.

The flange goes about 170 degrees round the bar, the rest is cut away. I've tried various positions, but can't decide how the flange is intended to be positioned - near my knuckle, thumb, the webbing between thumb and forefinger, or what. I have rapid fire type shifters but the flange doesn't interfere with their operation wherever I put it it.

Help me out - say I am looking at my bike from the left hand side, and there is a magic white line extending out from the grip at the centre of the flanged segment.....at what position o'clock should this line be? If that makes sense.

never seen that type. only the normal flagless and the fully flanged BMX ones.

They're these ones BTW, MBUK Most Wanted no less - doesn't seem worth cutting away more flange as its not in the way, just can't work out where to position it.

I'd put it so the gap in the gap is where it would need to be if it did help with interference witht the shifters.

Yeah I just did that in the end, can't make much difference anyway (the flange is at one o'clock BTW).
