As Wellgo make the pedals for DMR, have a look at their 'version' they are cheaper. Wellgo MG1 can be had on ebay for 20 quid or so, and has a magnesium body, weighs 380g, sealed bearings. Superb pedals.

I own a set of those wellgo pedals, and I'm very happy with them. I can definitely recommend them.

both the wellgo v8 copy's and the v8's are great if you weigh 9 stone and ride twice a year..

If you are over this weight and go out twice a week off road then think about something a bit more serious...the specialised mags or the crankbrothers 50/50's are great.

With pedals its all about quality. You pay 20 quid and you will be buying new pedals every few months..you spend 50 quid you will buy a new set every 18 months...

    don't do the false economy

TBH< i had the 5050xxs, they are awesome, grippy and strong, albeit the plates kept falling out.

i have now changed to easton flatboys. best pedals i have ever used, oodles of grip, light and they are also a fair size, perfect imo. albeit the £50 price tag. (got mine cheap from LBS, as i had to wait for backorder to clear.)

The reason why cheap pedals die is the bearings, not usually the strength of the structure. V8s and copies use a cast alu body and solid cromo axle, and can take a beating, which is why they are common in the BMX world.

I have a pair of V8's which have done fine, although now after a year the bearings have started to go but I will only bother to replace them when they are fairly stiff. So if you are on atight budget I don't see any problem with the V8's.
