No surprise, but it would have been good if he had defended his lanterne rouge for a few more days.

Nothing ever changes with T-Mobile. Mick Rogers is away up the road, and they're riding tempo on the front of the bunch

Yeah, some strange work by T-Mobile here! Perhaps the new squeaky-clean image includes selflessly helping the world at large.

By the way, perhaps someone could suggest a reason for Rasmussen attacking so early in the Tour? I'd have thought he would prefer to wait until (a) everyone's feeling more depleted, and (b) the climbs are steeper.

Maybe he's going for the GC this year. I hope so cos I'd love to see another of his TT specials!

The Wiggmeister is impressing me this year. He's still hanging in well with the main bunch.

Rogers is down! Crashed on the descent of the Roseland with Arroyo. Arroyo fell about 15 feet into some shrubbery!

I liked the way David Arroyo parked his bike neatly at the fence before going head first into the forest.

Looks like Rogers took Arroyo out - probably was sliding all over the place - Arroyo was trying to come around the outside, but Rogers decided to 'park' his bike into the barrier and leaving Arroyo no option but to bail-out into the bushes - luckily the drop wasn't any further.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Rogers is screwed. Dropped immediately at the bottom of the 2nd climb.

It's a pity that he seemed to be accompanied by a group from the Tignes Lodge of the International Guild of Wheelsuckers.

A few 'backup leaders' beat their bosses today. Schleck beat Sastre, Contador beat Leipheimer (yeah!!!!), Kash beat both Vino And Klöden... Attack of the young guns!
  • Is Cadel Evans one of the biggest wheelsuckers in Tour de France history?

Go Go Rasmussen, another classy ride. Here's hoping his TT'ing abiliy has improved some what.
  • Seriously though. Did Cadel ever do a pull at the front when they were on that Tignes climb?

Klöden lost 30secs-1min by waiting for Vino, I wonder what it would take now to change the team leader at Astana.

I liked Moreau's performance today - I reckon at 36 he is just starting to come into his prime. Wait a minute...

I hope he podiums, that would be awesome for the French and for a guy of that age, esecially as he's been trying for so many years. He's definitely got the attitude and is usually fairy consistent.

Klodi would have to cut down on the GQ-style "sharp suits and hookers" photoshoots and do two things. Firstly, tout his begging bowl around Berlin to get the team funding and secondly he would have to stop following wheels and learn to attack. As long as Astana are funded by their current sponsors, Vino will be the Kiddy.

so did kloden definitely wait or did he wait cos he couldn't keep pace with the break? have they interviewed anyone from Astana yet?

is there anywhere online where I can watch highlights?

I can't believe that the Valverde group did not work together, that was a fantastic chance to distance themselves, I am sure Lance would have killed that situation!

Damn, I knew McEwen would have a tough day but I hoped he'd stay in the autobus. Boonen was off the back on his own for a while too. Do you think they'll enforce the time limit rule in McEwen's case?
