Hey all
I've never owned anything other than quick release, but am getting some pikes V soon... so i'm gonna need a new wheel... So... anyone able to give me a quick run down??? I know the forks typically come with the axle... are they all interusable, is there a stanard, or do i need to check the hub against the fork?
anything obvious i need to bear in mind?
cheers in advance...

the 20mm hub is a standard and any new one you buy should fit with out any problems.
the hope pro 2 is a good choice. well any hub is really as most have cartridge bearings that can be replaced and upgraded if needed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I have some pikes and my wheels are hope hoops. Pro2 hubs on DT Swiss 4.2D rims. The hope hubs come with an adaptor to insert or take out on the front hub to make them QR or 20mm. Quite useful
I don't like the clicky ratchet on the hopes. It's a love hate thing...The pikes may jack that GT up a bit though i feel??? Does it need 140mm travel?
If it does shouldn't you be looking at FS.It might look like a praying mantis......IMO :?Me http://www.flickr.com/photos/8779009@N03/622132744/
