Chain Trouble

I've just put a new chain on my Giant Terrago Disc bike as the old one snapped. It is a Shimano 8 speed chain. I took out some links as the chain was too long. I fixed it on correctley but especially in the higher gears, the chain jumps and skips around on the rear sprockets. Is this a problem with the derailler or the chain?? Please help!!!

Sounds like you have a worn cassette to me.

Better replace it quick before your chain becomes as worn as the cassette. Its a bit of a slag but, unless you replace a chain ever 3-4 months then a cassette wears down and takes the chain along with it.
