I recently bought a Planet X Uncle John crossbike (through the Halfords Cycle2Work scheme). Brant, at Planet X, was very helpful.....responded to all my emails and questions.
Haven't had too many opportunities to get out on the bike yet but it is exactly what I ordered. The workshop at Planet X even rang me to confirm what cassette ratio I wanted. Good customer service.
A couple of people I ride with have Planet X carbon road bikes and they're very pleased with them.0 -
I have not had a PlanetX road bike but did have an Armadillo 'hardcore hardtail' frame made up into a general XC/Trails bike. Very well made, would probably see off a Volvo in a collision (!!) and, as said above, Brant is very quick to answer any questions, even though I bought the frame 2nd hand.
Recommended company and products.
And they are a British company, too, if that is something that pleases you.Now living happily at http://www.uk-mtb.com !!0 -
I have their Carbon Road Bike with Dura-Ace and FSA Crank (with Ceramic bearings!) - it seems to go quite well and is lighter than all of my mates bikes. There are some photos on my Flickr page, link below.
Company is good to deal with, they asked for some measurements off the bike I was riding and it fits fine so far. To get the same or similar spec of my bike from a more mainstream company would be around £3-4k I think...
Did 75 miles on it today around Snowdonia in nice warm weather! I have blinged it up a little - white Selle SLR saddle, might be getting some Mavic Kysrium ES wheels soon too :-)http://www.fachwen.org

planet x are fantastic. I have only heard positive about them.... also the bike seems good value for money. I have just bought a new bike or I would have considered it.
I mean, I think one of the small british teams race on those frames (there was a piece about it in that cycling weekly "Rides" magazine a couple of months ago.)0 -
I'm really happy with my Planet X Superlight Team, but since Brant and I go back to the Bronze Age I can't comment on Planet X's service!John Stevenson0

What are the Reynolds wheels like? I heard some not so positive stories(but not so on Planet x bikes..why) I am recommending the cheaper carbon Planet X to a friend as a possible bike- he is just under 13 st and rides in London- and he tends to break things easily0

He who hesitates is lost!
Get one while you can:

I will guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Give Brant a call and he'll configure your bike to your exact requirements.
Thats at least £1,600's worth of bike for £999.
A no brainer

I believe some earlier Reynolds Alta Race wheel had issues with spokes - the ones currently used by Planet X are fine.http://www.fachwen.org
