Reflectors

I recently bought a brand new bike, which came with a bell and many reflectors fitted. I realise that the shop has to fit these to any new bikes sold under law, but I don't know what rules there are regarding me removing these myself. I don't want to have a bell cluttering up my handlebars, and I'm not too keen on the large reflectors either (although I will certainly refit them when winter comes, when it's dark).

So what are the laws regarding reflectors and bells on bikes?
