    This month's procycling mentions that he does not have a pro contract this year.

    He's keeping in shape by riding on the granfondo circuit in Italy this year for a semi-pro team, racing against Rumsas and the other usual suspects.

    Fairly often top 20 finisher, has been 1st placed at least once (GF Michele Bartoli, in May)

    As Ricadus said, he's riding the Gran Fondo circuit in Italy. He rode the GF Marco Pantani a few weeks back - I was there and saw he was in it. Didn't see him mind, which is a shame as he's someone I've met a few times and is a friendly approachable guy.
