Gotta a link to your pics?? Are they on flickr??

I picked up my bike today. Was at the LBS to get the gears sorted (I couldn't be bothered). I left with a new LX front mech and some crappy replacement cables both fitted and £60 missing from my bank account! Not happy at all!! £13 for some cheapo cables!!!! I got an XT set for my buid from CRC for £8! Unbelievable.

On the plus side I did a bit of exploring near me, went where I shouldn't but found some forsest track with loads of rutted singletrack and dozens of 2ft drops! Now we just need some good weather................ :?

    Very Nice :D:D:D:D

It looks different to what I remember. When I was bike hunting I wasn't keen on the decals but they were different to that. Yours looks much better. The one I saw has gold Decals.

    You taken it out yet??

No i picked it up at 7.30 tonight so not had time, ive ordered some panaracers off Merlin so they should be here in the morning hopefully....the tyres are coming off! But impressed with it...i started off with a £280 budget for Mongoose and then ended up paying out for this...the back dated pay rise came in handy!

Haha, yeah I was reading your thread yesterday saying you were picking it up today and I was thinking "what the hell has happened here?", I'm chuffed for you mate. Cracking bike you got there. You will have to let us know how it feels compared to your RH. So, you got two bikes for the time being??

    :D

No, the guy from Southampton picked it up yesterday evening, he was well chuffed with it, to be honest the RH was more of a 'attack' ride if you know what i mean? i dont seem to be too far forward on the Fury, it seems to suit better. Yeah im a nightmare when it comes to buying bikes, i always want the best, plus i thought id get one of the best bikes for the £500 mark and i got one for £450! Bargain!

Yeah, an even better deal with 10% off!

I'm terrible, all my money goes into my bikes at the minute. I've decided to finish my build off by the end of next week (even though I can't afford it).

Cheers man, it was supposed to be a long term build but it has only taken about 2 months. I get a bit carried away...... Speaking of getting carried away. Think I might get these.

    When does you college start?

September 11th, im looking forward to it, Man you spoil yourself....why not! I wish i had all that kit on mine, but im going to do it , im going to get XT crank and avid 7's i think, i like the 318 fork its better than the 302, but i will change it next year probably get a recon or summat.

I haven't tried the Tora but I can recommend the Recons 351 solo air. Very plush. I think you can get Rebas for the same price as the Recon and alot of people rate them very highly. A pound lighter too (I think)

Cheers Monkeyfcuker, I had an idea the paint would wear off the cranks. Maybe I just won't ride it..... TBH I think they would better suit the bike if I stripped them like yours. Nice and shiny like :D

The GT is still looking good, looks better with the new fork on, how much was your fork?

I paid £260 for it from my LBS which is a little more than the online prices but I was working and I was all "Support the LBS". It's strange though, because on Merlin the standard 100mm fork (which I have) is more expensive than the same fork with poploc and also the u-turn version. I don't want any of that rubbish though :)

The GT is falling to bits. The BB is going. There is some lateral play in the cranks which ain't good. It's only done 500 miles!! I took the mudguards off too. You should have seen me today. My mum thought I had fallen off! Haha

Will it cost a lot to repair? Thats when the money starts to kick in....oh dear...£260 is reasonable

Nah, it should be fine (£20-30 for the BB). I will fit it myself. It's ok for now though.

So when you going to christen your Fury??

I haven't been Manchester. Although, I did the Mary Towneley Loop and that touches Rochdale. I don't drive so I am limited really. I have met a group and they let me tag along with them. We are off to Gisburn Forest tomorrow. And I'm going to the Lakes on Tues with one of the guys off the old WMB forum. You fancy it if you're not busy? Getting the train there.

I think I will be a student for the rest of my life! I had a bit of a "mature" year last year but I fancy letting it all go for my second year :D:D:D

What qualification will you have at the end of it? Is it Corgi or something?
