I am by no means an bike expert, but I bought a Giant SCR 3.0 last autumn and love it to bits. Just upgraded the wheelset to Mavic Aksium with Michelin Krylion Tyres and the performance has dramatically increased further. The headset it quite high, giving a fairly relaxed position, although i have dropped the stem beneath the 4 spacers it comes with to lower the bars by about 30mm. An angled stem can also be added to drop the bars more.

Do you have a preference? Generally, I find when I have a decision like this to make, I know what I hope people will say...! :)

I'm biased as I'll be getting a Giant SCR Ltd and think the SCR are fantastic bikes for the money, but it depends what you feel most comfortable on.

be aware there will be no distributor for Schwinn as Moore and Large have dropped the brand.

Well i didnt get any kind of deal on the 2 above bikes so i went for a 2007 Carrera Vanquish with Carbon Forks, im over the moon with the deal, £399 for the bike pair of shorts and track pump thrown in ! The bike is specced with full Tiagra groupset and appears to be of very good spec. Halfrauds made a mistake on the Advert price so i took advantage of this however the price ticket was quickly removed when i was leaving ! Over the Moon !!!!!!!!!

Well just an update iv had the bike for a week now and have been out every night doing around 15 to 20miles, and i can say that i am still over the moon with it ! The Tiagra gears work spot on and the whole bike works faultless. Would fully recommend the Carrera Vanquish 07 model.
