Best quality bar tape?

I bought a roll of SILVA cork handlebar tape (zebra pattern) for my fixie a month ago. However, I am not impressed with the quality of the tape, the pattern has already worn away to plain white cork.
I like the zebra pattern and notice CINELLI do a similar pattern. Is the cork cinelli tape any better or does that also wear away just as fast?

Anybody got any other decent bar tape brand recommendations?

Cinelli cork ribbon is excellent - although I do use either light blue or black (depending upon bike) and it easily scrubs clean. Worth giving the quality tape a try !

What about Brooks leather bar tape, I use it on all my bikes and love it

    "...for my fixie."

You mean "FIXED" of course, an easy mistake to make.

I saw some Stella Azzurra tape www.stellaazzurra.com/Handle-bar-tape/Eleganza.php
in Cyclefit today. Don't know if it's any good but they are a very chi chi boutique with a limited range of pricey stuff. So if they sell it, either it's great or it has a 300% profit margin.

Fi'z'ik grip tape is pretty good - hard wearing and scrubs up clean if required
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

This is by far the best tape i've used to date, a bit more pricey but well... it's only an extra £5 or so. given the value of most bikes, it's hardly that much of a blow out.. :? :?

I think I'll get some. Have read several very good reviews of it on the web, like this one. http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/news/artic ... 2344931332 And it looks classy. I had some really thick Specialized Body Geometry stuff before - a bit of a pain in the arras and plug ugly. And only in black.

yeah - I;ve got the BG stuff in black at the moment and it looks like crap - I only wanted the BG gel pads (which I do like - I like the feeling of a thick bar)

Anyway - I do like the cinelli 'gel' bar tape which is very good quality, easy to fit and stays looking good for a while.
