Hi all, this new forum is massive!
Anyway I am after a bit of advice. I currently have a Giant XTC composite for racing but I am looking for a bike/frame that I can use as a training bike/play bike (and to spare my race bike) for likes of Glentress and a bit of DH at inners. I`d prob be looking at a HT but I am open to any suggestions. I have thought about a coiler. As for hardtails orange crush seems to fit the bill so far as well as the sub zero and cove stiffee. Also the Norco Manik takes my fancy but I am not to sure if it would be ok for more general riding.
Anyone any experience of these or have any suggestions?
I plan to buy a frame second hand and build it with second hand bits to keep the cost down although I am aware that some of these frames are like gold dust. Would possibly consider buying package. Sorry I don`t have a budget yet but prob about 800-1k hopefully a bit less since I have a few things that I could use to begin with.
To summarise, I basically need a frame/bike that will take a beating that is light enough to still cycle up hill (although not too much of a problem since this will be good training) and should prob take around 130-150mm fork.
Any pointers would be appreciated

I'd take a look also at the Rock Lobster B52 at Merlin that is on offer at the moment. Easton RAD tubing, 130-150mm fork.0

Top frame! That would prob be ideal. Unfortunately 16" will prob be too small
Thanks for that though, its made me think outside the box.0 -
