Hmm, aren't those spinergy wheels, and they were like a grand alone weren't they?

    That's insane!

Because although the seller has owned it for three years, it's a good deal older than that!

If the K2 website is any guide, the carbon full-susser frame dates back to 1998-99.

The fork looks like a RC-37, which again dates back to 1999.

    The wheels look horribly fragile.

The whels were also very noisy if I remember. They kinda acted like a soundboard, so any bumps and stuff seemed to be projected quite loudly, as noise!

not to mention the fact that if you were to crash and a limb went through the wheel you'd be carrying it home.

...it doesn't look right somehow and I think the wheels would "rumble" like on a road time trial bike...

In all fainess, that K2's nine years old... I think reliable carbon monococque frames were still pretty new back then so it was probably over-engineered, hence the somewhat lardy looks.

Try comparing it with this year's S-Works FSR for example...
and I think the wheels would "rumble" like on a road time trial bike...

Now... who remembers Tioga disc wheels?

They supposedly made an amazing noise...

And were prone to disintegrate in a most spectacular fashion...

I don't like the fact that bike is as ugly as sin...
  • And GT used to make PLASTIC frames!!!

Sorta - they were carbon fiber in a thermoplastic matrix, unlike most composites used for bikes which are carbon in a matrix of thermosetting resin.

Oh, and they broke, which is why GT don't make them any more.

I prefer metal for everything on a mountain bike. Carbon belongs on a road bike.

So that's all the users of Pace forks told, then.
