Posting bikes

I doubt I can stick my bike in a box and take it down the local post office, so whats the best way/best company? Anyone with a good reputation and a good price, or are there lots I should avoid?

Unfortunately the couriers are unlikely to tell me if they tend to lose/break things. Looking for a good reputation really.

DHL or UPS are probably the best you will find, unless there is a local, smaller courier with a good reputation, might be worth asking local companies, i.e the pubs or post office what they might recommend...
