The two barrel adjusters on the downtube ar siezed in their mounting. In an attempt to free one of them (rear mech adjuster) I used a pair of pliers only for it to shear leaving the stud in the mount.

So two things - How can I get them both free and where can I get a replacement for them?
Will pop into the LBS tomorrow to see what soulution they come up with, they may have a couple on the workshop floor!
Many thanks,
Rhys.

You is a bit hamfisted, ain'tcha?
dribdle WD40 or oil into the mount and threads and leav overnight, look for some protuding stub you can get ahold of with needle-nosed pliers, and thread out. Otherwise, since needle-nosed pliers commonly have tapering jaws the usual method is to push one jaw into the stud until it 'bite's' into the alloy allowing you to rotate it, thus unscrewing the offending piece.
Rat tailed files (small) are also good for this. Or take it to the LBS. Don't forget to oil or grease the threads a couple of times a season next time.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I\'m only escaping to here because the office is having a conniption0 -
Go to Halfords and get a set of Ezout screw extractors, should only cost a few quid. They are basically a drill bit with a reverse thread, use them to unscrew the remaining stub of the barrel adjuster.0

I know it's a bit late now but did you put a bit of grease on the screws before putting them in? I always grease the screws on mine, that way they have less chance of seizing.0

I've got a couple of new adjusters on order at the LBS, i'll visit Halfords tomorrow for a set of those MartinL, although with the sheared off top i'll try with a normal drill bit as the stud should go straight through the mount.
I bought the bike 2nd hand and were stuck when I bought it probably as they were when I came to do some fiddling some time after.0
