Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new carbon fibre frame to replace the carbon/allu frame on my quest bike>>>

I had my eye on the PlanetX frame but after calling them today I was told that they don't sell the frames seperately which is a shame. After further browsing their site I found this for £999 which looks a real steal.

What I'm thinking of doing is buying the bike for £999 and then swapping over the components off the Quest. By the way the pic of the Quest is out of date as it has mostly Centaur groupset now with carbon cranks plus Open Pro ceramic rims on Record hubs.

Before anyone says what's up with the ultegra, the answer is nothing but I just prefer campag ergos that's all.

Anyway, onto the question. How much do you think the Quest frame would fetch when made up with the Ultergra Groupset, Reynolds wheels and other components off the planetx bike?

If I can get a good price for it then it would make a good buy but I'm unsure of what I'll get on EBay.

Does look a good package, carbon seems to be getting cheaper and cheaper

I bought their Stelth Carbon time trial bike recently, had the same dilemma with the wheels as I already have a decent pair, I've ended up keeping them and designating them as a winter training set

Also had them spec a different ratio cassette so I have an alternative for me other bike

Yes Ashley PlanetX bikes do tend to be really good value for money, I don't think the factory wheels would last long with my weight and the local roads which is why I'll keep the open pro's.

Does anyone have any idea what sort of money the Quest might fetch on EBay when fitted out with the components off the PlanetX? I would hope that as it's Ultegra and Alta wheels plus all brand new then £400-£500 may be within reach or am I dreaming
