I am considering replacing my exsisting forks with a USED set, not sure what to buy. Wondered if people could pass on reviews of the following & recommend me something.

Manitou
Pace RC's
Rockshox SID's etc
Marzoochi Z1's / Z2's

My use is XC / light dirt jumping.

Thanks

Matt

XC and light dirt jumping is a bit of an odd mix. SIDs can be ruled out for anything leaving the ground - for many people they're a bit too flexy for trailriding.

Any Marzocchi Z2s are going to be quite old now, but they were fantastic forks and might well be the kind of thing you're looking for.
Recent Z1s will be too heavy for XC and a bit long for DH, but older (but looked after) ones might be ideal.

Manitou have for a while been known for making poor forks. As a general rule, their top-end forks are fantastic, but anything else is a bit poor. They're not helped by their ever-changing support status in the UK. Personally, I'd avoid them.

I'd say the fork that you're really after is the RockShox Revelation. It's about the right weight, strength and travel.

i thought the response would be far greater than this, i can only assume your all riding rigid frames & forks.

Well I'm using a Marzocchi MX Pro for cross country riding and it looks and feels good.

Also, Rock Shox Recon U-turn seem quite popular, I see many riders with those...

It depends on what your frame can take in the travel stakes?

    100mm get rebas

    130mm get revelations

    150mm get pikes

The geometry is different nowadays. As above, Rev Uturn sounds ideal.
