Tyres Size?

hi, what the maximum tyre size can use on MAVIC XC-717 rim? thanks

    The maximum is probably close to a 3", really.

    The maximum practicable is about 2.2" - 2.3". As the tyres get fatter, they roll more, so they feel less steady.

    How wide were you thinking? Why do you want to go so wide?

    im current 2.1 and thinking 2.2 or more. anyway thanks

    Dont forget that different companies tyres are all different. Contis always seem to come up small......l

    You'd be lucky to get a 2.3" tyre on an xtc. iirc my 2.2" rubbed the chainstays at times..

    My Conti Vertical Pro fit very nicely on my old 217 rim (if anyone remembers those), but did give a slightly more rounder profile. Have a look at Sheldons site for a good article on tyre sizing.
