Did I see cavendish with a 80mm rear wheel
Hi there
My eyes might be playing tricks with me but did I see Mark Cavendish with a 80 mm rear wheel on the tdf, I know zipp do a 420 groupset which has a 40mm on the front and a 80mm on the back but I thought that would be for tts and tris not for RR.
Would the areo dynamics out way the weight???

Yes, I am here at the Tour and I noticed T-Mob were all riding 80mm deeps as was Cancellara-- Dirk Hofman Motorhomes --0

At the Tour presentation all the T-Mobile bikes had Zipp 606 but the sticker was blacked out but the 606 was still visible0

I think a lot of teams use deep sections for the flat races, swapping to ultra-light wheels for the mountains. I'm not sure how much difference they make when riding in a bunch, but obviously the pros are pretty sure they are faster.0 -
i've been tempted to fork out on a pair of the new Dalkiia wheels which are 60mm for road racing and TT'ing. I've been concerned about them being a bit deep with cross winds etc. they're advertised as being good to go for road racing but i have my concerns....
Anyone out there ride 60mm rims for road racing or has anyone come across anyone riding the dalkiia's??
