I'm looking for new tyres for my xc bike. I want something that rolls fast but can still grip especially in corners. The trails I ride are a mixture of fireroad, hardpack and loose soil with occaisional wet roots and rocks. Preferabe size 2.1. Can anyone recommend a trye?

A good 'all round' tyre is the Panaracer Fire XC - some will disagree but it's all down to personal preference/experience0

Panaracer Cinder. Like the fire only with a better compound (Grippier and laster longing)and more up to dateMarin Mount Vision 2005. Fox RL100/RP3. Hope Pro 2/Mavic XC717/DT rev. Cinders 2.1, XTR, Lots of bling
Cervelo S3 2011. Mavic Cosmic Carbonne SLE. RED. Q-rings, lots of bling and very light!0 -
I like laster longing tyres!0

The Cinders grip better, but the Fire XCs roll faster.
I generally go for Fire XCs when it's dry and Cinders when it's not.0 -
maxxis advantage are good or get 2 minion dhf's and run the front and rear. highrollers are good to.0

I have the Fire XC Sports and they work very well, roll fast and very grippy offroad even in wet or dry ( i can vouch for that, ive climbed some very steep hills in the wet with them )___________________________________________________________
