HTML Signatures

Hi
Before the old forum disappeared I copied my old html signature across to my profile on this form.
Two problems
First it said it was too long....
Then when I shortened it, it just printed the html in the signature area.
So how does one encode html links on this form... ie "this is my Bike" as a link to a photo elsewhere
Thanx

BB Code does work within signatures now, however HTML does not and won't be enabled anytime soon because HTML is open to too much abuse and cause some serious problems.
If you go to reply to this and check to the left of the submit button you will see some options:
Options
HTML is OFF
BBCode is ON
Smilies are ON
The word BBCode is a link which will give you examples of how to do various things such as add a link or image using BBCode.0 -
Thanx Gavin
I tried that and all I got was "No input file specified." in a new window...?? with the addresshttp://www.bikeradar.com/forums/faq.php?mode=bbcode
That was in FireFox
Might be a FireFox issue I thought
Tried it in Internet Explorer and got "Web Page Not Found" etc at the same address as above.
More help Please ??0 -
Thanx Cyclone
That has helped... still limited by 255 characters so have no room for my other bike. but certainly better than nothing.
Can always add the extra one in here like this..
My Pub Bike
Or put them all in the body of the text...0 -
You are correct, there appears to be a problem with that page. Will add that to the list.
In the mean time I will post some guides[b]Bold Text[/b] [i]Italic Text[/i] [u]Underline Text[/u] [url=http://www.yoursite.com/]This is a link[/url] [size=200]Huge Text[/size] [color=red]Red Text[/color] [email]no.one@domain.com[/email] [img]http://www.yourdomain.com/images/blah.jpg[/img]

Thanx to you both.
The only small issue now is the 255 character limit. The problem lies in that a tag like this[b]Bold Text[/b]
uses up approx 15 characters (not sure if a space counts) whereas it really should only count as 8 characters.
So that adding fancy tagged signatures is character intensive.0 -
So long as you want the entire signature in bold then just open the tag at the start and close it right at the end. that way you only use 7 extra characters.
eg:
this is my signature.
It's all bold just the way it should be.
This is my Text
Another option is to host your images somewhere with a short URL or use www.tinyurl.com to shrink long ones.0
