Hi all,

I am off to Les Arcs in August for a week riding the trails. I currently ride and will be taking my standard Specialzed FSR Comp.

Does anyone have any tips on setting it up for such a trip (other than the obvious dropping the saddle etc) ??

i.e. What disc pads to go for, and more specifically what tyres ?

Currently thinking about 2.3 Maxxis High Rollers. Waht is the general consensus on these ?

Thanks in advance

Spare brake pads, spare mech hanger, spare tubes are the obvious ones.
High Rollers are a good choice, personal preference being a ST front and a 60tpa rear. You could run ST F&R but it will be gone in 4 days on the rear.
  • make sure u package your bike properly more importently i have just traveled away for a riding holiday got here and just found out that my frame is bent and cant be usedallthough i thought i did everything possible to pretect stuff i would recemend finding a couple old hubs and putting these as that would of stoped my framr getting bent but i didnt think of it before

def take note of all of the above!! i fitted 2.5 high roller slow rezays 40a front and back to my ellsworth for a week in spain and altho they looked a bit ragged they had loads of tread left! very much doubt you could wear a super tacky 42a out in 4 days unless your a bit of a skid a holic! if i was going again i would do the same or maybe a maxxis minion triple compound daddy on the front! the grip of both tyres is immense!!
