Just a heads up -

ITV1 (london & South East) Sky Channel 993 7:30pm 24th July 2007

The London Programme investigates the 27 million pound crime wave that is seeing hundreds of bicycles being stolen from the capital's street. Our reporter catches some professional bike thieves in action and finds out how easy it is to steal a bike in central London.

    thanks for the heads up but some of us know only too well just how easy it is as we have lost valuable bikes even if they have been locked to proper bits of street furniture with good quality expensive locks...

    do you explore the semi tolerated market that is Brick Lane - the policeman taking my details recommended that I go down there and have a look to see if my bike might turn up

    would it not be more effective if he went down and did something meaningful to deter the trading in stolen bikes in the first place...

    We were envolved in a small part of the programme. I am not sure about the whole content of the programme, but I know that they investigated fully all the leads they were given. Brick Lane may very well have been one of them.
