I currenlty ride a Specialised M2 Stumpjumper and my opther half would like to join me on some rides, chances are she won't want to go off road too much and budget is probably about £230-300 max, can someone suggest a good bike to go for or something a little bit more expensive that I may be able to get off Ebay cheaper. Requires front suspension but not full.

    Ebay has its drawbacks, but I take it you are good with bikes and setting up/service. Common question this, so searching this site should yield good results. Some suggestions:

    Mongoose Tyax Elite: great off roader with damped fork and discs
    Trek 4300: light frame and parts
    GT Avalanche 3.0: versatile all rounder

    I have just bought my other half the Trek 4300 WSD so she can get into some XC.

    I am getting back into it myself after a break of a mere decade, but didnt want to fork out a fortune in case she doesnt like it.

    Anyway, the Trek is £300 in the shops and is the 'Women Specific Design' which seems like a great idea. Managed to get one off eBay for £150 (plus P&P) and its in excellent condition with only a couple of scratches. Bargain for half the price - as it looks almost brand new.

    There is one for sale at the moment which looks like a good deal in case you want to give it a look;

    I bought my better half a Marin Bear Valley. She loves it in lipstick pink (she's a girly girl) I payed £475 brand new.
