I've got a SDG I-Beam Bel Air SL which is fine for the first couple of hours, but after that it becomes unbearable. Any recommendations for a light not too sore on the arse saddle for 6+ hrs XC?

I have the Ascent Chromo bodyfit on mine and it is very comfortable even after long xc rides.___________________________________________________________

I use a Specialized BG saddle. Some may find it a bit soft, but it suits me. Very comfortable on long rides.I'm not getting old... I'm just using lower gears......

I've found my SDG Bel Air to be the perfect saddle for long rides. If its not working for you I suggest you get your ass down to the a bike shop where they can measure you up with a suitable Specialized saddle. You can then use that information to decide which saddle suits your rump.0

What he said. Though it may be worth tilting the saddle either way in small increments and testing it, as it can make a fair difference.I'd give my right hand to be ambi-dextrous0 -
Another vote for the Gobi.0

WTB Pure V Stealth: Very comfortable for many months.
Fizik Gobi: Only used once on 30-mile off-road ride but very comfortable.
The Spesh BG on my commuter cripples me after more than 3 hours and I am just in the process of searching out a replacement! Now living happily at http://www.uk-mtb.com !!0 -
I've got the Gobi. You do need to break it in though, and experiment with the saddle position,by tilting the nose up or down slightly to suit.2006 Giant XTC

Whatever fits your bum - everyone is different.
The Gobi works for me, though I keep meaning to try an Aliante on my MTB - I really like it on the road.John Stevenson0 -
Specialised Alias BG works well for me.0

Another vote for the Charge Spoon , I'm test riding the Ti one at the moment. The cromo spoon got a rave review in WhatMTB.

Ti one should be a bit more comfy due to the flex if the Ti shouldn't it Luke?0

I've got a Gobi but I'm not convinced yet. Maybe needs some breaking in.
I had a cheap Spesh BG on my last bike, it was pretty good.0 -
I've been through selle italia flite and Specialised BG (think it was the Alias, ti railed anyway) and have settled on the SDG Bel Air (RL I think).
Made a huge difference to the amount of time I can spend on the bike and still be comfortable. i looked into the I-beam one but figured the shell and rails on the Ti one could flex wheras the -beam will probably make the saddle really stiff?
I got measured for the BG one and it was better than the Flite but was still sore after a few hours.

Thanks for your help, already tried tilting so going to give the Gobi a go. Cheers0
