So Cav gets 9th place in the longest stage of the Tour.

The longest in distance and the longest because no-one seemed that bothered about racing. Maybe its a hangover from all the cuts and bruises of yesterday, or maybe the riders know that a drug free tour cannot be 3 weeks flat out. Hope its that.

In the end the day long breakaway was caught by Auge who nabbed Millar's polka dot jersey and the last 20k's certainly made up for the previous three hours.

A bizarre cobbled section about 1100 metres from the end saw the break finally succumb and a sprint looked inevitable. But then Cancellara flew out of the peloton and took the win.

A truly amazing ride from the yellow jersey.

Was he trying to do a Boonen and come in behind his lead out man? I laughed when the ITV coverage missed out who came 8'th on the stage.

Great ride by Fabian! I think Wiggins could do something like that if he tried - I'm sure he's got the speed to hold off the sprinters for a bit. Pursuiters always used to do that in the 80's.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

I'm glad they caught the breakaway - I stuck with Robbie McEwen in PTP, but my "other" choice which I jessied out of was a group break and Vogondy for the win.

I may just go for my "lone breakaway" plan for tomorrow...
