Ritchey bar and stem combo fit?

I am buying a new stem and bars from Ritchey. I have settled on the 2007 Carbon fibre riser bar and a choice of 2 stems.
My rig is an 06 GT Avalanche 1.0 disc.
1 - The V3 stem is grade 2014-T16 alum. The 4 axis stem is 2014 grade. Is the V3 a stronger construction? Both stems are designed to take a carbon bar and they are both the same price so its difficult to choose between them
2 - I am hoping to get the 31.8mm oversized stem and bars as a set due to the added strength - Does anyone know if I will have compatibility problems with the gears and brakes attaching to the new bar?
Thanks.

Can't say about the strength of the material used but you wont have any problems with compatibility between handlebar mounted controls and the bar.0

Even though I have the standard size bar at the moment, you reckon the gears and brakes will fit the over sized one? I hope so !!!
Plus will the new stem go onto the existing "mounting place" (I have no idea of the name for it!!) for it?0 -
Its only the centre section that is oversized, they taper out. Saying that, of you like your controls well inboard you can run into trouble.0

Ahhhh the penny drops! So they are fine where they are then on either bar. You'd have thought I'd have had that figured out by now!
Thanks for the replies though so far.0 -
Do remember to take care when tightening up your controls, and the stem on the bar.
And IIRC, it's also advisable to replace carbon bars every 2 years, or after a major crash, even if they look un damaged.Less gears, more beers.0 -
So the bits should arrive tomorrow. I got the Ritchey WCS C/F bar, the Ritchey WCS V3 stem (I had order the 4 axis one but after ordering they e-mailed to say it had been discountinued!) and I also got some Ritchey WCS bar ends.
I'm planning on fitting the stuff myself. I don't have any tools with a torque setting, if I am cautious will I be OK to put all the stuff on?
I note that I have been advised to take care fitting the stem and the controls.0 -

It's also advisable to change alloy bars after a major crash. People seem to have an irrational fear of carbon.0 -
Received this morning - They look fantastc, I'm very pleased with the quality and the feel.
Once again does anyone know if I can attach them myself with just a normal allen key, or do I definately HAVE TO get the shop to get them to use the proper tools with the correct torque settings etc.....0
