Now, I know some of you purists wouldn't be seen dead in there, but its certainly our best shop around here for all things cycling (except for some of their bikes) so I frequently find myself in there. I'm sure many others frequent the place too.

Anyway, back to the point. If you buy Kellogs Cornflakes, there is a 10% off all Halfords cycles and accessories. In addition, they are giving away a free 'Cyclocomputer' with three tokens.

Just thought it might save a few pennies.

10% is naff all unless your spending mega dollars.

If you bought something for £10 you would £1 off.

I'd rather not insult my LBS and advocate Halfords and shun the discount. A bit of a gimmick. It'd cost me that much extra to go there instead of favourite JD Cycles.
Too enthusiastic about biking for my friends...want to ride somewhere in the SE? TELL ME!!! hamsterscanswim@hotmail.com - and yes they can!

I went into my local Hafords this weekend to look at thier new CB range, couldn't believe it when I saw that they've now started stocking Voodoo! They've gone up in my estimations now!

apart from a few token kona's and the odd maxxis tire, is there anything in halfords that belongs on an mtb? it's good that they are promoting cycling though.
  • I hate to jump up in defence of halfords here and would always recommend the lbs as first port of call but i have to say that halfords are the only place i've ever seen Voodoo's and not just recently either. Halfords provide a service which has to cater to a large variety of peoples needs and since the majority just want odds n sods then thats what they sell. Part of the problem IS the 'support your lbs' attitude, if we don't go then they won't sell the stock, if this was your business would you risk the initial outlaw of a fleet of top notch DH bikes??? I've always found that they've sold the majority of bike specific tools i've needed and the staff will try to help.

    Rant over, sorry
  • sorry, outlay not outlaw.

They used to sell Airbourne too, I remember hearing a rumour that someone had picked up a Lancaster frame for £300. Lucky B*st*rds if it's true.

I usually go to Halfords to buy tools, grease, degresers etc. Stuff like that.
I tend to ride weekends, so I do my maintenance on weekdays, after work, ready for the following weekend.
Unfortunately, my LBS closes before I finish work, so halfords is usually my only option.

I do like our new LBS though, excellent service.
