According to The Times today the French media was sceptical of our ability to organise properly a race of the TdeF's stature.
Anyone seen any French media reports of the prologue and Satge 1? Interesting to see if they've changed their minds.

  • from the t-mobile blog it seems many of the peloton said it's the biggest crowd they've ever seen for a cycle race.

I think we did extremly well, now lets see a tour in britain as organised as that (the tob isn't)

I am following the Tour in France and Le Figaro reckoned it was the best ever start to a Tour

French journo interviewed on 5Live this morning was most impressed.

They then asked him about the history of British riders at the Tour, at which point the journo claimed Stephen Roche as "an Engleeshman". Not too sure Stephen would agree with this.

Talking to a French collegue the media in France had the knives out in anticipation, but have had the good grace to admit that it was really rather good.
