am i right in thinking that a sram 9 speed chain will work with my 9 speed shimano cassette like this 1 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=9911

and why do people think sram chains are so much better
thanks

    Yep, that'll work.

People prefer Sram chains mostly for the powerlink. There is said to be a slight difference in shifting quality, but it's probably so small as to be unnoticeable.

well if you buy an OE sram chain then yes. if you buy an after market chain no cause it comes with a powerlink. but you will need a chain splitter when fitting any chain as they come oversize.

The Powerlink is fine but you'll get one with your chain anyway

Dave no he will not. they are OE chains that come with a rivit pin.

    Soz, my mistake.
It's just that every SRAM chain I've ever got from CRC has had a Powerlink with it

Suppose he could join the chain old skool style if he wants to save the money on the Powerlink.
Much easier to fit the chain with a Powerlink admittedly (never been able to undo one myself after it's connected at the link)
