Tour shock sensation - sox!
I'd always understood that pro riders never wear socks. Tighter fit for the shoes without, closer "feel for the road" whatever.
But there today on the TdF stage through Kent on the telly, rider after rider - wearing socks!!
Am I wrong or has there been a seismic shift in the Tour attitude to sock-wearing?
I think we should be told.
Apart from anything else, that's probably why they go faster than me (and the fitness, and the bikes, and the fact I weigh over 16 stone and haven't a clue what I'm doing etc) But now if I wore socks, perhaps..... 8) 8)

Cycling - the most fun you can have sitting down.

It's only UK "Testers" who go sockless! Many years back, one of the top UK Testers was fined by the UCI for going sockless during the World Amateur TTT. (Needless to say, despite us being the best nation in the world for TT, we got hammered! )
I'd only put the Sock Police onto Moreau, must think he's a tennis player, roll them down boy!Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0 -
Now that Lance has retired, we can wear sox at a sensible height. His knee touching soc were awful. Yesterday some of the peloton were wearing black sox - ugh!!
