Can i use this fork for my mtb set up. This is the road version or so it says in wiggles online store . I have discs which is not a problem as the forks have them also as well as cantis. Will these take the hits on the trails or will they bend in half? Also will i be able to put wide mtb tyres on?

The fork may not be the appropriate length given that the frame geometry is "suspension corrected". I have a 26" P2 fork and chose the model that was 400mm which matches frames designed for 100mm travel forks.
  • I have a set of the 700c road forks with disk mount on my Dr Dew. I crashed into someone in the rain the other night (mainly may fault, oops) and I came out of it with a slightly buckled front wheel and bent forks. I do weigh in at about 110kg though and it was a head on colision so make of this what you will.

I've ordered a cotic roadrat frame and forks this week though.

If it's the old versions of the fork, the only difference between the 700c and 26" is where they put the canti mounts.

For the new ones, the 26" ones are suspension corrected by lowering the crown and extending the tube the crown race sits on. So you should still be fine with a 700c set.

The 700c ones are marketed for CX and Touring, so they should be up to the rigours of trail riding.
