I don't have Eurosport so watch on ITV which is pretty good. I hope they have a longer show for the mountain stages, but somehow doubt it. I still quite like Ligget and Sherwen, probably because they are so familiar.

I tape the late repeat of the highlights and then watch a day late. I'm amazed at the number of adverts - all of them for dating websites and babealicious mobile 'phone downloads. Do roadies have a reputation as a bunch of sad loners???

    Shazz,

ITV4 (or sometimes ITV3) show it live on the weekends, which this year include three mountain stages and both time trials

First 2 stages i wateched live flicking between channels for adverts etc, last 2 stages ive watched ITV highlights at 7.00 and i must say there godawful. You probably only get 10mins of racing on the screen out of an hours prog. Adverts breaks are so lengthy and too much time spent on the recap of the previous day and also digress with other items.

I agree re:time spent showing race - I do like all the extra bits but i want to see more racing really

I shall time the highlight program tonight and see if longer is spent on adverts or cycling - any guesses which will win?

Also I've noticed that whenever Boardman is on screen in such a way that you might see his 'cuddly' stomach he tries to cover it with an arm - once you notice you can't stop seeing it. Reminded me that Sean Kelly said he keeps trim 'cos he thinks its important to keep up a professional/good? image

people have always complained about the ads C4's/ITV4's coverage. Yes, they are noticeable but that's because you find they're on within about two minutes of the programme starting.

What I've noticed is that the ads are mostly put at the start of the programme. Come the end of the programme the ads become fewer and shorter.

Given that the channel has to show a certain number of ads to pay for the broadcast, chapeau to the person who decided to do this. Much better to have an uninterrupted final quarter of an hour when much of the excitement happens. Chapeau!
