What mid-range road shoes?

Got some old Specialised shoes but had some really bad 'hot spot' foot pain on my ride yesterday - I think it's about time they got replaced and this has given me all the encouragement I need!

But what to go for? Don't want to spend much more than £50 (certainly £60 tops really). Need to be fairly wide too.
An MTBer, but with skinny wheel tendencies...

If you are looking for wide fitting shoes the best shoes for the wider foot are Northwave. not sure about price or quality as i have only ever used Specialized or DMT.

I got some Specialized BG Comp Road earlier in the year. Currently £72 from Wiggle (would have posted the url if this site worked properly  ). I know these are a bit more than your budget but I have been very happy with them. Also seen lots of other posts in praise of Specialized BG shoes. They also do a model at £54 but don't know what these are like.

Edit: Forgot to say that I have wide feet too. Only other thing to mention was that my LBS where I got them from advised that I went for a size bigger than my normal shoe size.
