Although we rarely admit it, I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of us own a pair of lycra shorts for those long rides in shitty weather, even if we wear them under baggies.
I have a pair of Kona DH shorts I wear for XC. The longest ride I've done is probably the Marin trail at 25km. They were still totally comfortable after that time, with only one re-adjustment necessary.
So I don't like my rides to last all day and prefer them short but sweet. So I'd rather drive to a riding spot than waste my time riding to a riding spot. Big fukking deal. Go insert your censored back up your rectum, homosex.
Lycra has it's place in this world ...... no-one ever been behind a tidy lass when she is up on the pedals on a steep climb ?
I praise the lord of lycra on those days

Go to the DH section; go on, you know you belong there.
I always tell myself that at the beginning of Cwm Carn... Basically I want an uplift to the carpark by the red and black XC runs. That'd be just peachy.
Ummm. I'd like to point out that most females are old and/or unattractive....
Purely based on averages.
Most cyclist females, especially mtb'ers, are naturally young and fit. And you don't need to see the face to appreciate lycra clothing adorning the toned female form.
Decent/fit bikers tend to have road bikes too. I spend half my time on a road bike and half on an MTB. Lycra is the best material for both - certainly for cross country and all mountain. Baggies offer no advantage. The only variable is padding/ protection.
Lycra rules! Whatsomatter guys.........shy?

Last time I looked clothing was freedom of choice so if you want to wear lycra do so if not don't bother. What should be banned is stupid surveys for stupid reasons.

I've ridden further than that to get to a ride

Obviously lycra inside baggy shorts doesn't count as it's all about style purposes
