Hi,

I have disc brakes on my downhill bike and they are not working as good as they used too. I want them so they will stop me dead, I have changed the pads, played about with the cables and even took it to the shop to see if they could do anything but they too couldn't.

Is there anyway to get them to be strong again or do I need to buy a whole new set of brakes?

And another quesiton, if you spill oil on them how do you get it off?

    what brakes?

spill oil on them clean fully with meths or isopropanol alchol and fit new pads.

They are cable discs and therefore crap... get hayes HFX9's with big rotors for less than £100...they will be all you ever need!
