well your bearings will not last as long as they should.
shimano says face it before fitting. i would."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It's allways worth facing a frame, whatever components you use.0

I would only face the BB shell when needed, which it does with external bearing types. Otherwise it might get chipped, corrode in the meantime as its exposed and need doing again.0

sonic did you not face the drive side shell face when fitting standard bb's?
so the flange did not sit flat on the face?

Without facing the hollowtech bearings sit on top of paint effectively which means there is a little movement (possibly) where there shouldnt be, stresses in the wrong direction and ultimately a shorter life-span for your bearings, but this is not the end of the world!
If you cannot get it faced then fit and ride anyway... if your lbs can do it then they should only charge £15 or so, and might even fit the cranks for you. Not a big expense imoCrushing the symptoms0 -

I got my maxlight frame face for both BB and disc mounts.
I figured that for the relatively small outlay I had piece of mind all was set up correctly.Maxlight Build here
