Which Wheels?

I recently got an ace deal on a Specialized Roubaix Comp. This comes with Mavic Open Pro Rims on unbranded (I believe) hubs and spokes.

Question is: I also have (from a previous existence) a set of Fulcrum Racing 7s. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether its worth while to switch from the open pros to the Fulcrums? Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Steve

Fulcrum Racing 7's are pretty entry level so expect them to be pretty much of a muchness.

Why not swap 'em over, take 'em for a ride and see how she goes...

What do you need the wheels for? Might make a difference to your choice. I'm a fitness type rider, and use Open Pro. For what I need, good VFM and strong. Might not suit you if you intend racing etc.

Depends on the quality of the hubs - many big brands use cheap unbranded hubs to keep the cost down - these can often be nasty, open bearing designs that will barely last a winter. Likewise, the quality of the wheel build is import too - judging a wheel by the rim only is a bit superficial. How heavy are the original wheels in comparison to the Fulcrums?
