Whilst riding my Spesh Stumpy FSR Elite earlier today I landed the first of 3 small jumps on the Dalby red route and my forks went with a bang, sounded like a gun going off.

They lost all feel and just nose dived to the floor. Managed to get over the second jump but as I tired to brake before the third jump the bike just nose dived again. It was about this point that I landed on my head and saw my bike cartwheel over my head and into the trees, think this is where my rear wheel became the shape of a banana.

Thankfully I was OK but my forks were just stuck in the max travel position regardless of where the travel adjuster was set. The forks were topping out completely and no change could be made by altering the damping.

Managed to get back to the car very slowly and after kicking my rear wheel into somekind of roundish shape.

My questions:

Has anyone heard of a similar problem?
As the rear wheel is buggered because of the fork problem am I with in my rights to push to get this fixed under warranty.
